Sweet Candy Tri-Fold Card

Hello Scrappers! I had this candy cane ribbon that I just had to use. Here is a Tri-Fold Card with the candy cut using JOYS OF THE SEASON Cricut Cartridge page 47. A tutorial on how to make a Tri-Fold Card can be found on the side bar under November. Click on that and scroll down the page and you will find the instructions for an earlier card I made.

The Meaning Of Christmas Pop-Up Cards

Hello Scrappers, I had two more cards to make for friends using the pop-up design. The first card I used a stamp set by INDADINKADOO. I purchased the stamp set at Michael's. I do have a tutorial for the basic card on my blog under Winter Woodland Pop-Up Card.

The card with the Angel was cut using the Christmas Noel Solutions Cartridge. The large Angel was cut at 4", and the smaller Angel at
2-1/2". The Peace tag I cut from JOYS OF THE SEASON CRICUT CARTRIDGE PAGE 77 at 3/4"

Hanging Christmas Ornaments Card

Hello Scrappers! I wanted to design a card with decorations on the outside and inside. So I decided to make the ornaments be the inside and outside of the card. When you open the upper flap there is still room for a message.

The card base is cut at 6"x 5-1/2". Score at 4-1/4" at the 6" mark. I rounded the corners of the top flap and lined it with Christmas card stock and ribbon. The ornaments were cut from the JOYS OF THE SEASON Cricut Cartridge. Since the ornaments were different shapes I had to cut each one at a different size. The round ornament was cut at 2-1/4". The center ornament was cut at 2-1/2" and the one on the far right was cut at 2-1/4". I added pop dots to the back of each ornament and attached them to the card stock that I cut 1/4" smaller than the card. I then used embroidery thread, and threaded each ornament and taped the ends to the back of the green card stock. Adhere the green card stock to the card. On the inside flap I cut a small piece of white card stock and inked the edges. This will be where I will write my message.

Dripping Candle with Pine Cones

Hello scrappers! Today's card is cut from the JOYS OF THE SEASON Cricut Cartridge. I cut it at 4" which is on page 55. I ran it through the cuttle bug Divine Swirls folder. I added copper glitter to the pine cones. They can be found on page 67. Last year we were crazy for the Martha Stewart leaf punch. I still enjoy using it, and added a few branches. I cut the candle holder twice, and added pop-dots between the two layers. It made it a little easier to add the branches between the layers. Pop-dots were also added behind the candle.

Christmas Card Using Wild Card Cricut Cartridge

I did not realize that the Wild Card Cartridge had a Christmas card and envelope. It is on page 74. I cut the card and envelope at 4-1/4" . I cut a piece of red card stock to go behind the tree so that it would out line the tree. Rhinestones were added to decorate the tree, and I used gold glitter for the star. For the ornament I used holographic paper. I like shinny!

Joy Card with Silver Card Stock

This monochromatic card was done in all silver. The glittery card stock is from Ann Griffin Christmas Collection. The chipboard letters, ribbon and card stock were purchased at Michael's. I added a bow charm that I found in my stash. Another simple card that only took a few items to make.

Snow Flake Card

I finally got a package in the mail, it's my new Cricut Cartridge WHEN IT'S COLD OUTSIDE! I wanted to make a card that only took three items to make. I used card stock, ribbon and stickles. I did run the white card stock through the CUTTLE BUG using the Holly Ribbons folder. I guess technically this could be considered another item. I just love the green on white, and the sparkly stickles. If you click on the picture you can get a better look at the details.

Gingerbread Man Card

This card is just so darn cute!!! He looks good enough to eat! I cut the gingerbread man out of white chipboard. Then I traced the cut on a piece of thin cork board, and glued the two together. I did try to cut the cork board with my Expression, but was unsuccessful. You can find this cute little guy, and the sentiment from STRETCH YOUR IMAGINATION. I ran the red card stock through the Cuttle Bug using the Perfectly Paisley Folder. The ribbon I purchased at Michael's, along with the rhinestones.

Winter Woodland Pop Up Card

This is such a fun card! I seem to say that a lot! How nice and compact the card is when folded. Have fun decorating it for Christmas, or even for a birthday with a cake and balloons! I cut the house from Winter Woodland Cricut Cartridge. Here are step-by-step instructions.

Cut card stock at 4-1/4"x 11". Score at 1", 2-3/4", 3-3/4,and 5-1/2". Rotate card and score at the same intervals. On the center score line cut a slit from the 1/2" mark on your cutter to the 3-1/2" mark. Fold all score lines in one direction.
Cut a piece of card stock that Measures 3"x5-1/2". This will be the pop-up portion of the card. If you would like to add a second layer to the rectangle, this will need to be done at this point.

To attach the rectangle piece, insert it through the slit on the top of the base. Turn the card over and fold the top flap down. Line up the edge of the rectangle piece with the edge of the card. Add adhesive no wider than an inch thick to the rectangle. Fold down the other flap at the bottom of the card. Bring the card up to the top and adhere. Line everything up together. Turn card over and repeat using the adhesive.

Slide the base along the rectangle piece, and your card should now stand freely. Now that the base is complete, you may add your printed paper and embellishments.
If you need further instructions, please feel free to leave a comment. I will be happy to answer any questions. Thank you, Lorraine

Top Note Swing Card

I recently purchased the Top Note Die from Stampin' Up, and made a Christmas card. To make this card you will need to cut two in red card stock, and two in black. I did trim the the black just inside the stitch line in order for the stitching to show when I adhered the black to the red portion. I decorated the front of the card using the Cricut Christmas Noel Solutions cartridge, then I stamped the inside of the card with a stamp from Hero Arts. In order to attach the two sections together, I used a brad at the upper left hand corner. This will allow the card to swing open.

Poinsettia Flower Pot Card

POINSETTIA FLOWER POT CARD

I think I'm hooked on this style of card again! I Love this flower pot. This is definitely a versatile base for all occasions. I am not the original designer of this style of card. I did see it posted on the Cricut MB, and this is my design based on the original. I would like to give credit to the original designer, but I don't know who that is. I used Winter Woodland Cartridge for the flowers. Joys of the Season Cricut Cartridge also has a poinsettia (pg. 69). Well lets get started making this card!

CARD BASE

Cut card stock at 3-1/2" x 9". Score at 2" and 5-1/2". Fold at score lines having the 2" flap facing the front of the card.

Cut a small angled section off both sides of the card. This will give it the flower pot shape.

Cut a piece of green card stock at 4-1/2"x2-1/2". Cut a 2-1/4"x4-14" in red. Adhere the red piece on top of the green card stock. I then cut a piece of red card stock to add to the top flap of the card. My paper was not double sided and I wanted a solid color for the pot rim. I used the Snow Flurry punch by Martha Stewart at the edge of the pot rim. I added a 1" strip of white card stock and glued it to the backside. This made the snowflakes really show up. Add some ribbon and tie in a bow. Adding pop dots to the underside of the rim will give the card some dimension. On the inside of the card, run adhesive no wider than 1/4" width on the outer edge of the card. Close your card to tape together. The card should now have a pocket wide enough for your card insert to fit.

This is what your card should look like at this point.

Insert your rectangle card into the pot. This will make it easier to determine the placement of your poinsettias. I used the Winter Woodland cartridge to cut my flowers at 2-1/2"(page 40).

Two flowers were cut for each poinsettia. Adhere the first flower to the leaves. I coated the second flower in versa mark, and added embossing powder. Heat set your powder. If you miss a spot, and the embossing powder did not cover completely, you can coat the section in versa mark again, and add embossing powder a second time, and heat again. This gives the flowers a nice glossy finish.
Place the flowers on the rectangle portion of the card using pop-dots. Make sure you do not put pop-dots on the flower pot. If you do your card will not open.

I hope you have fun making is card. I have so many ideas in my head for Christmas themed flower pot cards. Try using holly leaves. There are so many winter greens that would look great trailing down the pot. Have fun!!!

Christmas Stocking-"Flower Pot Style"

I was inspired by the Flower Pot style cards we all made this past summer. I decided to cut two stockings from the Christmas Cheer Cricut Cartridge, and I adhered the stockings together. I left a pocket in the top portion to allow the card to slide in and out. This would be fun to add candy or even toys to the removable portion!

CD Pocket Card

This card is cut to house a CD of your favorite Holiday music. Maybe even consider a DVD of you favorite pictures that you have been wanting to share with family and friends.

To make this card, you will need an 8-1/2"x 11" card stock. Cut in half length wise. You should now have two pieces of card stock that measure 4-1/4x5-1/2. Score both pieces in half. What you will do next is cut a section off the bottom corners. Line up the bottom center of your card with the top corner in your cutter and remove that section. Discard the two triangles that remain. Your card stock should look like picture three below. At this point you may run your card stock through your Cuttle Bug. You may have to refold one side of your card at the scoreline in order to have the two pieces fit correctly. Glue the two back pieces together. Run some adhesive along the inside of each triangle. Lay one flap down at a time. This will form your pocket for your CD. I also ran the sleeve for the CD through the Cuttle Bug. It adds a nice design to the window of the sleeve. Now you can decorate the front of your card!

Pedestal Card

This card can stand on its own. Get creative with your front image! Try adding a family photo, and a little bling, and you are done.

The base of this card is cut at 4-1/4"x11". Score your card in half at 5-1/2" . Then score one side in half again. You should have three score lines. Fold, and there is your base ready to decorate! How easy is that!

To keep the card from slide down the front, I placed a rectangle piece of cardstock popped with popdots. Try using buttons, or even brads instead of the cardstock to have a different look.

Tri Fold Card

The Tri- Fold style card can give you several areas to decorate. This gives you plenty of space to add a special message on the inside.

TRI-FOLD CARD INSTRUCTIONS

BASE OF CARD
Cut blue card stock at 4-1/4" x 5-1/2"
FIRST LAYER
Cut white card stock at 4-1/2" x 5-1/4"
FIRST FLAP (brown)
Cut at 4"x 3-1/4", on the 4" side score at ½"
SMALLER FLAP (blue)
Cut at 3-1/2"x 3", on the 3-1/2" side score at ½"

I added ribbon to my first layer, if you would like ribbon on your card, adhere the ribbon as your first step. Next you will take the first flap that is the BROWN, and add adhesive to the inside of the scored section. Attach the section with the adhesive to the back of your white card stock (first layer). Now you should have your first flap on the front of your card. Take the smaller flap and do the same step as before only attach to the right side of your card. Now you should have the two flaps that open on the front of your card. The smaller BLUE flap will lay on top of the BROWN flap. Add adhesive to the back of the white card and attach to the BLUE base. Now you can add your embellishments and sentiment to your card.

Side Step Cards

Here are just a few cards to inspire you to create your own for the Holidays.

The directions for this simple but unique card are as follows.

Card Base:

51/2"x81/2"

Insert you card into the paper cutter on the long end. Align your card at the 2" mark. Start your cut line 1" down from the top, and continue to cut your slit to the 6-3/8" mark. Turn your card on the short side and make a score line at 1", 2", 3-1/8". Make sure you score only to the slit in your card. The next score line will be at the 4-1/4" mark. This score line needs to be made the entire width of the card. This line indicates the center of the card. The last score line is at the 6-3/8" only to the score line. Lay your card down with the wide end to your left. Your first fold will be a mountain fold, the second fold will be a valley. Continue untill you have all your score lines folded. Now you can decorate your card with your own embellishments.
